Elizabeth's new friend

At Catherine's parents, they have a big stuffed polar bear that has become Elizabeth;s best new friend. Catherine says that she laughs and runs over to the bear and gives him a hug every time she comes into the room.

I miss my girls and am looking forward to joining them in SLC this Saturday.

4rth of July- Rock Island, Wisconsin

Over the 4rth, we traveled north of Greenbay, Wisconsin to an island in the middle of Lake Michigan, named Rock Island. This part of Wisconsin is Door County- a quaint corner of the state known for it's cherries and beautiful scenes.

The history of the island is interesting. The indians used the island as a camp for fishing trips. In 1886, the US federal government built the first light house on the Great Lakes on the western tip of Rock Island. In the early 1900's it was owned by an industralist from Chicago. He used it as a private retreat and built nordic style buildings over the 912 acre island. The family ended up turning it over to the state in the mid-60's, making it a state park. We heard that it is the least visited Wisconsin State Park - the necessity of catching two ferries explains why!

We had a blast. Our friends the Tim & Sara Rauch, and Tim and Anna Hassell arrived the day before- the Waterhouse's and the Lever's showed up on the fourth. Thank you Rauch's for making it happen! It was Elizabeth's first camping experience. Enjoy the pictures!

May and a little of June

This past month has been a good one! Here are a few things that have been going on with the Levers:
*Jackson has been on Peds and we have LOVED having him around a little more. The Sun has finally showed face and Elizabeth has been as entertaining as ever.
I finished my first 1/2 marathon and have come to the conclusion that I have no intention of running a full marathon. I actually really liked the race, but don't know it my knees can handle 13.1 more miles.

*My parents came to visit the end of May and we took a trip down to Nauvoo. We stayed at a Bed and Breakfast for 2 days, which is the way to go! We had a great time going to the Temple, walking around, seeing plays, eating and ending the night with some Rook. The only bad thing that happened was Elizabeth falling and cutting the inside of her mouth (she is fine now).
We then took my parents up to Wisconsin for 2 days. I showed them around Milwaukee, we drove up to Cedarburg and ended the night with only the best German food Wisconsin has to offer. In the morning we grabbed some of the best danish pastries I have ever had inside the US, and sent my parents off to SLC. Thanks Bud and Claudia for the great memories!

*Good thing my parents came when they did, and missed out on the wonderful rain/tornado/thunder storms we had this last weekend. This was the first time I have ever heard a Tornado siren and had to evacuate to the basement. Our neighbors were great, one of them was fully prepared with blankets and all to shield the glass. Luckily we were fine and live on a hill so we didn't have to worry about flooding or sewer water getting in our basement (thank goodness!)
Enjoy the pics.

Birthday Pictures

Elizabeth had a fabulous Birthday and it was way too much fun to watch and play with her!!!
She loved her toys and especially loved her cake as you can see from the pics. We lucked out with perfect weather, good food and had a great time with friends. Thanks for everyone that came and also helped out!
